2014 Fall Wanderings - 4
With most of the foliage gone in the northeast and what is left will be gone after this semi nor'easter or tropical storm here are two more images from Ithaca region. This image is of Taughannock Falls taken from the deck by the parking lot above the gorge. This vantage point give the falls a totally different perspective.I am planning on doing a winter trip to capture these falls when the sides and rock faces are covered with ice. This next image is from the gorge that leads to Lucifer falls. Another area that could be interesting in the winter. If any of my blog followers have experienced these falls in the winter, please share your thoughts.
Vermont - Fall 2013
Fall colors have come a week or more early in most of New England. Most tourist areas will be past peak foliage color by Columbus Day.Took a trip up north to Vermont this pst weekend - the Ludlow and Woodstock areas. Grey skies, rain and fog were in the forecast and for a change the weather man was on the money. One must make the best of every opportunity and the Okemo mountain region offered the best fog images.
New Hampshire Fall Workshop Report
Overall the workshop turned out great. Friday was a bit of a disapointment with very little color along the Kankamagus Higway. The second day we went up North through Bethlehem, Lancaster, Stark and Gorham. The foliage was good as were the birch trees in Gorham. Day three was also up North but not as far as the previous day. Most of the time we explored the Crawford Notch area and ended the day in Pinkham Notch. Columbus day was spent on the Kankamagus which was now in full glory. What a dramatic change in two days. Speaking to friend and fell photographer who had gone up yesterday - the colors are gone and the trees are brown. This is the strangest and most rapid change-over I have ever seen. Here are some images from the trip:[slideshow]
